Gosh I love a Sunday, don't you?
It's the one day a week I try and reserve for total relaxational bliss, (yeah I just made up a word, it's THAT relaxing.) Sometimes I have the whole day to pamper up a storm, other times I squeeze it into an evening before bed - this week I had a Sunday morning to fit in some me-time, and boy was I ready for it!
I had a fantastic weekend last week at a cousin's wedding, down in Winchester - and as fabulous as it was, all the travelling and minimal sleep can take its toll, with little time to recover before you start your work week! So this weekend I was prepared to take total advantage of some wind-down time, before I started my Sunday "to-dos".
So I started with a little bit of a lie-in, (I'm an early riser, so staying in bed until 9am feels like an absolute sloth-out to me.) And then decided to wake my body up with a delicious Frank Scrub shower - this basically consists of getting into a lovely hot, steamy shower, wetting your skin a little, then turning off the water for 5-10 minutes while you lather on Frank (this being the scrub, it ain't that kinda blog.) I've gone for the original formula which has such a powerful, coffee and orange zesty smell - perfect for mornings.
So you scrub it on all over your body, scrubbing extra hard in any problem areas - then you kind of just stand there for 5 minutes (10 minutes if you can bear it, I aim for about 7 and catch up on some YouTube videos whilst I wait,) this is so Frank can get to work in making your skin super soft. After you've waited, get that water pumping again, and wash off the exfoliator, then follow up with your favourite body wash.
So after that kinda shower I'm already feeling super revitalised, and now I'm squeaky clean I'm going to get to work on giving my face a good ol' seeing to.
As Frank Scrub is the kind of product you can use both on your body AND face, I've already ticked off the exfoliation step of my weekend skincare routine. So next I'm going to use my Kiehls Clearly Corrective White Purifying Cleanser which I prefer to use in the mornings as I don't really feel like it does a good enough job getting my make-up off in the evenings,
Then I go in and spritz my Caudalie Beauty Elixr, this has such a fresh minty scent so it's just marvellous to use in the mornings, and unlike my other spray toners - when you accidentally spray this into your mouth, it actually tastes quite okay!
To finish off my skincare I apply my Origins Ginzing Moisturiser generously to my face (another orange scent! Making me want an OJ real bad...) and use my Kiehl's avocado eyecream to brighten up my undereye.
Okay, so now that's my face taken care of, and my body is 100% dry, I'll move on to moisturising the rest of my body. After using the Frank Scrub, my skin is like butter, and I'm talking honest to god Lurpack. It's super supple and as soft as anything - so I like to trap that in by using my Laura Mercier Fig body creme, there's no science to my method - literally just applying this to my body and letting it dry before snuggling into my dressing gown.
So now I'm all clean and pampered, I can relax into my fuzzy dressing gown, pick up my book and settle down for an hour with a hot chocolate.
And that pretty much concludes my pamper morning! The only thing left to do is chow down on some yummy Sunday breakfast which normally consists of toasted sourdough bread and a handsome amount of bacon.
So I hope you've enjoyed having a little insight in my Sunday mornings - these are my absolute favourite things to do, especially now the weather is turning so crisp and autumnal. I hope you've had a good weekend, and I'll see you soon! xx
