Skincare Spotlight: Glamglow Youth Mud Mask

So it's about this time in the year where my skin begins to hate me a little.

Gone are the days of readily available Vitamin D straight from the sunshine, and instead weeks are replaced by miserable rain and cold winds which like nothing more than to zap the moisture out of your skin. If it wasn't for all the festive cheer and easy access to hog roasts, you'd be more than a little ticked off to see the arrival of the winter months!

But alas there are steps and small treatments you can give yourself to bring life back into your skin, and make what sometimes feels like a little bit of grey complexion, transform into a winter glow.

So since it's been getting colder - I've had to step up my skincare game and make extra efforts to prevent it from looking more colourless than a forgotten tea bag. This comes in the form of using my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream daily, switching up my moisturiser for one with more of a richer consistency and really treating my skin to a good ol' face mask to revitalise and exfoliate my skin for a deeper cleanse.

Enter Glamglow - a product I had previously purchased on my last trip to America after hearing rave reviews here there and everywhere. I was a little dubious at first, having learnt the hard way about hyped up products - but let me tell you this; when it comes to creating brighter, softer and all round radiant skin, Glamglow doesn't just deliver - it signs the parcel itself, puts your feet up and makes you a hot chocolate while you just go ahead and enjoy the experience.

It's a standard mask in terms of application. Apply a thin layer directly to your skin avoid your eye and mouth, what's interesting about this mask is the little flakes of charcoal you'll find on application, charcoal is actually incredibly beneficial to your skin and works to giving you a revitalising experience.

After 10-20 minutes your face will be feeling similar to the contents of a cement mixer, simply wash off the mask using warm water and a flannel - and enjoy the results.

On the Glamglow website, some of the effects the product promises to deliver is leaving the skin noticeably soft and smooth, to tighten, tone and lift the skin, absorb impurities without removing natural oils and help to protect against everyday environmental  aggressors.

I can confirm 100% that this product delivers all of the above and more. After using this product just once, I saw lasting effects over the next 3 days. My skin was visibly smoother, calmer and generally brighter and more healthy; but whilst the results were everything I wanted - I wouldn't use this product more often than perhaps once every 3 weeks due to the abrasive nature of the product. It gives fantastic results but overuse of most exfoliators and masks can sometimes work against you, and you could strip away skin cells prematurely - causing your skin to breakout.

It is however the perfect mask for infrequent use, like I said once every 3 weeks or even a monthly treat. At £25.00 for a 15ml pot (around 4-5 uses) and £40 for 50ml this product is definitely an investment but will most certainly last you a while if you use it as directed.

So overall a fab little product we've got ourselves here - great for giving your skin a boost and giving it some much needed love in between those icy-rain showers we've been enjoying of late!

I hope this has been helpful somewhat and has given you a little bit of guidance to feeding your skin some goodness this winter!

See you soon! xx
