Super-quick S'mores

I don't know what it is about the word "S'mores" that makes me really want...well more I guess!

Despite never properly having them before, all I had to do was look at the ingredients and thoughtfully picture a campfire scene that was straight out of "Are You Afraid of the Dark", (minus the creepy stories,) to know it was gonna be one quick and delicious dessert - almost like it was made for Bonfire night!

Bonfire night is my third favourite night of the year; I love everything about it - the smells, the colours, the promise of hot dogs and jacket potatoes hanging in the air. But once the last firework has burst and the sparklers have sparked their last sparkle; you can't help but be super ready to get home, take off the wellingtons and warm up with a nice cup of hot cocoa...

...and this year, a couple o' S'mores.

So, to make sure my first S'more experience was one to be remembered; I picked my absolute favourite variations of the ingredients - so feel free to mix this up to work to your taste buds.

Okay, you will need:

Digestive biscuits
Classic American jet-puffed marshmallows
A medium sized bar of dairy milk chocolate (or a large one if you're feelin' crazy)

So you’re gonna want to prep your S’mores station, so get yourself out two digestives, and place a chunk of chocolate on one of them. Next, attach your lil marshmallow onto some form of long, thin, fire-friendly device ( I really can’t think of the name of what I’m referring to – but I’m sure you catch my drift.)

Now, a campfire would be totally more appropriate, but as I was lacking this particular evening, I used the hob instead! If you don’t have a gas hob you can simply place your marshmallow on top of your chocolate and biscuit and place under the grill till it softens.

Now how long you cook your marshmallow over the hob is completely over to you, I like it so it oozes but there’s still some of the structure left on the outside of the mallow (this is a science guys -).

Then when your marshmallow is cooked to your preference, place on top of your chocolate and digestive, and bring over your plain digestive on top like a sandwich.

And BOOM, some kind of crazy taste explosion I haven’t experienced since the release of Double Stuf Oreos in the year 1975. The gooeyness of the marshmallow compliments the slightly melted but still firm clunky bite of chocolate as you take a bite through two wonderfully crumbly digestives, that as best as I can describe this indescribable flavour - just try it okay?

Enjoy with a hot chocolate (why not throw another marshmallow in there you maniac?) step yourself into some fluffy socks and there you have the perfect winter warm up.

Byes! xx
