I really hope I'm not the only one in the world that goes cer-azy over sample sachets or sample-sized products, it's like a little party in an unsuspecting minimalist mask (or masque - geddit?) So you can imagine my excitement when my brother, Matthew returns home from New York loaded with the latest must-have products from Kiehls in handy, delightfully sized packages.
Now, I'm a fully-paid member of the Kiehls appreciation society (this isn't really a thing, but if it was, I'd be all over it), their SPF moisturiser is my absolute favourite and their eye treatments really do work miracles - so being able to give these samples a test drive was a task I was more than happy to complete over the Easter weekend.
The first two samples I tried was of the Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. Now, I'm a little bit snobby when it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I very rarely stray from Liz Earle's set partially because of it's sulphate-free formula which keeps my hair in good condition and prevents the colour from fading too quickly - but I'm always willing to try new things and was pleasantly pleased with the effects from Kiehl's hair care. The description says it's been formulated for dehydrated hair, which is perfect for me as I sometimes find the ends get a little too dry for my liking - but using this left my ends soft and supple and the olive fruits and avocado oils leave your hair smelling ah-ma-zing. I had no idea Kiehl's line of hair care would be so good, but it looks like everything in a Kiehl's pot is a little miracle. At £8.50 for a 75ml bottle it's a little more on the high end side of price, but if the results continue as they did with the first two uses, I'd more than happy to splash out on this as a "weekend" hair treat.
Next up I tried the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avacado, I have troublesome bags under my eyes which I can never seem to shift, and whilst the Kiehl's Recovery Eye Treatment does a good job (more about that later) I was intrigued to see the results of this sample. I tried this on Saturday evening before bed, so I could wake up and hopefully bask in the bright eye results on Easter Sunday. Firstly, I've got to say the smell of this was really amazing, really refreshing and a perfect cooling treatment under the eye and while my eyes only looked slightly brighter, they definitely felt more nourished which is what I expected and what I was looking forward to really! Not many of my eye treatments leave me feeling revitalised like this one did, a lot leave my under eye area feeling really tight and firm which isn't always pleasant, this however was a delight.
Staying on the subject of eyes, next up I tried Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Midnight Recovery Eye. I already own the full size bottle of Midnight Recovery Eye, which I am in love with so any extra I was thrilled to receive! The Concentrate however I have never tried but always heard rave reviews about from my friend Kim who swears by it. I always get super excited to try anything which could hold the possibility of reducing any darkness under my eyes, and would you believe this little miracle-worker held the key to it! I used it two nights in a row and was so so pleased to see results straight away. The circles under my eyes were definitely lighter and were easily covered by concealer the next day (the average person could probably go without concealer, I however seem to be stuck with these dark circles for life, but any treatments which reduce these, even for a short period is always a God-send.) A sample I will definitely be purchasing in the future.
The last sample (sob) I tried was the Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleanser. Cleansers are always a dream to try out and with the promise of restoring hydration levels and reversing skin discolouration - I was pretty excited about it. I was totally surprised when I squeezed it out into my hand as the consistency looked similar to the liquid man (T-1000) out of Terminator 2, a very pure mercury-like appearance. I applied this onto my skin after taking off my make up and I LOVED how soft it was! It was incredible and felt amazing on my skin, because I used a fairly generous amount, I decided to let it sink in for 10 mins as the consistency was similar to that of a masque, and I loved every second of it. After soaking up all it had to offer, I removed it using a plain white muslin cloth and while I don't have much trouble with discolouration, I could definitely see results after two uses (once in the evening and once the next morning), and noticed that any redness I normally cover with concealer (around the nose, on the chin - the usual areas prone to redness!) Was nearly unnoticeable without make-up! In terms of hydration my skin more nourished and I didn't have to use nearly as much moisturiser as I normally would following my morning cleansing routine. All in all, a good product - if I was ever to cheat on my usual Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish it would definitely be with this bad boy and will probably purchase it on my trip to the states.
So that was the last of my samples I so graciously tried out over the long Easter weekend, I absolutely adore finding new products to love and this time was a great bunch all round. Big thanks to my brother Matthew who brought this back all the way from the US and fed my love addiction to Kiehl's.
I really hope you've all had a great Easter weekend, I'll see you next time!

As usual love your blog and I love Kiehl's as well, they are happy to give you samples unlike most brands which I believe is why so many purchase the actual product. Thanks to your blog I now own Kiehl's powerful strength line reducing concentrate, which is amazing. Looking forward to your next blog as usual
